Candyfloss and all Things Pink

I don't know about you, but I love all things pink and white.  While I was making this little bear, I was dreaming of the candy floss, nougat and Spring.  Spring is such a glorious season, everything is fresh and new and full of hope.

Every now and again, I make a pink bear,  it just gives me a happy feeling.

Candi is a 5" bear made from the softest long pile Alpaca.  She is five way jointed, has needle-felted eyebrows and is dressed in some pink and green sheer fabric ribbons.  Candi is available for adoption.  Candi has been adopted and now lives in the US with her new mom.

and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Blues and Bears

Rupert is the latest bear cub born in my studio, and to protect him against the cold, he has a baby-blue wooly shawl.  Rupert is made of golden-brown mohair and is approximately 5" from head to toe.  Doesn't he have the sweetest expression?
Rupert is reserved for a wonderful collector in France.

Puppies and Bear Cubs

A few weeks ago I was designing a pattern for a friend in South Africa who is farming with goats. These little goats are as cute as can be.   She wanted a pattern that she could use to make soft-sculpted goats to sell at fairs and shows.  At the same time I was busy making Bubbles.   I played around a bit and tried the long goat ears on him just to see what it would look like.  He looked so sweet, not like a goat, more like  a puppy, so he officially became a  doggie-bear.

Bubbles is made of short yellowish sparse mohair.  He has big black glass puppy eyes and there is a little bag with lead shot in his tummy, so he is quite heavy for his 5" size.
I so enjoyed making this little one.

Marty and little FrenchFry

This is Marty and little FrenchFry.  These two are the best of friends since they met in the AutumnWood Bear studio.  Marty is 6" and FrenchFry is just a wee bit.  Marty is made of beautiful, soft mohair with ultra-suede paw pads and his friend is made of miniature upholstery fabric.

If you are interested in adopting any of my little bears, have a look at  where you will find adoption information and more photos.

Something Old to start Something New

What better way to start a new teddy bear blog with something old and dear to my heart.  This old teddy bear has just turned 50. The baby jacket he is wearing is about the same age.  As a little girl, he shared my secret dreams, heartaches and hopes.  Today the girl is all grown up, creating new little bears, and he is a precious treasure with a special place in the teddy bear studio.
