Dotty, an Adorable Bear Cub

I don’t know what it is about bear making, but it just gives me such good feeling. I love seeing a little face come alive, full of character and soul.

This is Dotty...

Dotty measures 5 inches tall and is made of creamy sparse German mohair.  She is five way jointed, filled with poly fibre and has a small bag of steel shot in her tummy.

She has such an endearing face, don’t you agee?

Puppies in Springtime

It seems Spring has finally arrived here in Southwestern Canada.  Today is such a glorious day and even though there is still some snow on the ground here and there, I already envision flower beds full of radiant color.  I can’t wait to start planting!

This is my little princess, Lucy.  She is a Shi-poo and my constant companion.  I just love her to bits, and use her sweet little face as inspiration for all my bears.  But ….it turned out this little princess loves not only me but the outdoors as well.  Her favorite past time is rolling in mud puddles and slurping up rain worms whenever she gets the chance.  So much for being a princess…
After a hard day's work...

Milo, a Mischievous little Bear Cub

It has been busy here at the AutumnWood studio the last couple of weeks.  I am working on four new bears for the Teddies Worldwide show, which will take place  March 23 - 25, 2012, as well as on some equine drawings for an art exhibition in Kamloops.

Amongst all this craziness, a new bear cub was born,  he is a real cutie-pie.  He is sitting on my work table at the moment, sharing with me what he plans to do when he is a fully grown grizzly bear.

But ...

Unfortunately for tiny 5" Milo, he will have to spend his life  in a closed container until his adoption.  Panini, our official studio assistant, is always on the lookout for cute little mohair critters to prey on ...life can be dangerous for a grizzly cub.

Milo is available for adoption at http://autumnwoodbears.bearpile.com/

Milo has been adopted by a wonderful collector in the US

We're having a Party

Welcome to our Tea Party.

Let me introduce you to Neela and her friends.  Neela is a 6" girly bear, created from beautiful creamy colored mohair.  She has German glass eyes, ultra-suede paw pads and a tummy full of steel shot to give her a nice weighted feeling in your hand.

Neela's fairy friends, as well as the cupcake are made of polymer clay.  The faeries are  approximately 1.5" standing, with blue-ish mohair hair.  The charming tea cup is a 'Lindner' porcelain cup and saucer set that I found in a quaint little shop years ago while living in Germany.
Neela and her fairy friends are having some lavender tea today, care to join them?

If you like Neela, please vote for her on www.TeddiesWorldwide.com
