Flopsy, a Cousin for Daisy

Normally when I design a new teddy bear I have an idea of what I want him or her to look like.  This little bear only revealed her own unique personality at the very end, but I am very pleased how  she turned out.

Flopsy is now available for adoption.  There are more pictures of them on the Available Bears page.

Tools of the Trade and Purple Cousins

This past week I was rearranging my studio, clearing it of the all unnecessary clutter.  This is no mean feat, because I’m a collector of all things beautiful.  My mom's only remark when she saw my studio for the first time was, 'Oh my, I'm glad I don't have to clean this"

My studio is a large sunny room, with different 'medium stations', one for oil painting, another for watercolor, a drawing table for pencil work, an office section, a place where I take photographs and then of course my teddy bear corner.  As I was going through all the fabric and teddy bear accessories, I noticed my sewing needles and thought I'll give you a peek at my well used tools......!  I bet I’m not the only one whose sewing needles look like this!

I am currently working on a new pocket-mini bear cousin for Daisy.  It will be hand stitched from a soft purple faux fur with white accents and should be available for adoption here on my blog late Wednesday afternoon.

This is Daisy...

More details about Daisy are on the Available Bears page above.

Bears and Love Tummies

At the beginning of this year, I contemplated to stop blogging all together.  Having to write and re-write a short blog post  due to my lacking skills of the English language, is time consuming and sometimes frustrating.

But then again, I have met so many wonderful people through my blog and  I love sharing my bears with all  of you. So, I suppose as long as you are prepared to work your way through grammatically challenge sentences, I'll continue blogging.

Hope you like Chrissy with her heart-shaped tummy!

First Bear of 2013

This tiny bear is the first to be born in the AutumnWood studios for 2013.  I wanted to call her 'January' but then decided 'Mimi' will suit her much better, given her tiny size.

Mimi is an adorable pocket-size mini bear of approximately 3' tall an is made from short pile faux fur.

If you would like more information about  Mimi, just drop me a line.
Mimi is now reserved, thank you.

Ordinary Days and Favorite Things

All the Christmas cookie tins are empty and the new year is well on its way already, yet, I am still in slumbering mode, enjoying the quiet snowy days.  Next week everything will be different, I will be back in the studio and  will be able to show you a brand new teddy bear, but for now I thought I will just share with you two of my favorite things.

Lovely Brumble...  when we adopted him from the Humane Society, he already spent six months there. Black cats are not popular it seems.   He is  the dearest little fat cat,  easy going, lovable,  tolerant and a 'heart mender'  His sweetness erased the sorrow  my teenager felt for a lost feline friend and put a smile back on his face.  I am so thankful this little kitty is part of our lives.

Then there is Panini, the terror of the home.  None of the other cats, except Brumble who doesn't take him seriously,  are  safe from his mean streaks.  He attacks and pounces all unexpected  furry critters at every chance he gets.
Then he will  turn around, put on the sweetest face and in his best voice he will  say 'Mma.ma'.  Literally!    Needless to say by the sound of 'mama', everything is forgiven.  Who cannot love such a face?
